In reaction to the recent amendment to the regulations, Bridgestone has issued the following:

On 5 March 2007, the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations were amended to stipulate that: "Each tyre supplier must undertake to provide no more than two specifications of dry weather tyre at each Event, each of which must be of one homogenous compound and visibly distinguishable from one another when a car is on the track."

Bridgestone has two specifications of Bridgestone Potenza dry weather tyre at Melbourne for this weekend's grand prix: Medium and Soft.

Bridgestone can confirm that for the Australian Grand Prix weekend the marking will be placed on the sidewall of the Soft compound dry weather tyre. As suggested by the FIA, the marking will take the shape of a solid white circle of 3 cm in diameter.
