WilliamsF1 was the only team ion duty at Vallelunga today, the final day of testing at the Italian track.

The Grove outfit had Mark Webber and Narain Karthikeyan on duty, as it wrapped up its preparations for the Monaco Grand Prix.

"We had a very busy final day here with plenty to cover on the programme," said test team manager, Mike Condliffe. "Today Narain was testing some aero modifications, brake materials and revised brake cooling options, while Mark concentrated on car set-up work again, before moving on to another set of tyre tests."

"Vallelunga was a key track test for Cosworth," admitted Cosworth's Simon Corbyn. "Updated CA2006 engine components, an engine duty cycle increase and the latest engine control system developments were all run successfully and will be available for race introduction at Monaco."

"I completed nearly 1,000kms of testing this week in Vallelunga," said Karthikeyan. "We were fortunate enough to have good weather all week which helped our progress greatly. During the two days that I was in the FW28 I worked on various items in the schedule in preparation for the Monaco Grand Prix next weekend, including tyre compound evaluations with our tyre partner, Bridgestone.

"We also ran some specific tests on the aerodynamics which will be an important consideration in Monte Carlo which is a high downforce circuit. The test was very useful for me as it's given me more experience of the car, but I also hope I've assisted Williams with their current development programme."
