A1 Grand Prix has responded to claims that Ron Walker, a close friend of Bernie Ecclestone, and Australian Grand Prix boss, is planning legal action against promoters of the new series, which gets underway at Brands Hatch next weekend.

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation claims that A1 Grand Prix' use of the phrase "A1 Grand Prix" infringes its intellectual property rights.

A statement issued by A1 Grand Prix in reaction to the claim, reads:

"A1 is fully entitled to use the term "A1 Grand Prix" and the event title "A1 Grand Prix of Nations" for its forthcoming series. A1 has no further comments at this stage."
