Ferrari's 2005 contender, the F2005, made its track debut at Mugello today, with test driver Luca Badoer at the wheel.

The car was due to run at Fiorano on Monday, but adverse weather conditions meant that the team moved to its other test track.

The Italian completed a total of 61 laps (9 of them on the short version of the track) the quickest being a 1:22.210.

"When a new car takes its first steps, it is always a very emotional moment," said Luca. "This morning there was obviously some tension, which quickly lifted, going out on the track and seeing that everything is fine. After these initial laps, I can say that we are satisfied."

Testing continues at this track tomorrow, again with Badoer driving the F2005.
