Sections of the British media are getting excited over comments made by the newly-appointed managing director at Midland F1.

Former Euro and German F3 racer, Colin Kolles, has admitted that he is a big supporter of BAR test driver, Anthony Davidson, who at one point looked to heading for a similar role at WilliamsF1, until the Brackley outfit stepped in.

"Davidson is one of my favourite drivers," said Kolles, according to the BBC.

"He is also one of the favourites of team manager Trevor Carlin," he added, referring to the man who will run the team, and who previously ran Davidson in F3. "But it's not only our decision."

"We were looking at Davidson for a long time," he continued, "but we will see if we can find a solution. It's not that easy. It's not a question of him being expensive, that's not a problem."

Meanwhile in the wake of the announcement that Midland F1, which earlier this week agreed teams to buy Jordan Grand Prix, will hold a grand event in Moscow's Red Square on September 25, we hear that the new management is already making its intentions crystal clear.

According to a number of reports we have received, various members of Jordan's 'old order' have already been shown the door, after just a couple of days, with many more due to follow.
