According to on-line bookmaker Paddypower, Michael Schumacher has already won the 2004 Formula One World Championship.
The betting company sent out an e-mail to punters yesterday afternoon advising them that it was already paying out on Schumacher winning the 2004 title.
"Seeing as the drivers weren't providing much excitement so far in a lacklustre Formula One season, we thought we'd sieze the initiative. And so with four races of the season gone, we have decided to pay out on all bets (multiples and singles) on Michael Schumacher to win the F1 Championship."
According to a source, this is the earliest that the company has had to pay out on any event.
Although Schumacher has indeed won four races, out of four, there are still fourteen races to go, which makes the decision seem a little premature. Then again...
