This was the first US win in a European Grand Prix with Jimmy Murphy in a Duesenberg winning from Ralph de Palma in a Ballot.
I have heard there are a few tales of the adventures the Americans had. Does anyone know any?

Gary Doyle has done an excellent job in providing a chronicle of this adventure for the Americans involved. And, yes, there were a number of adventures that they had to either enjoy or endure in the course of the proceedings.
One small item generally overlooked concering the 1921 GP de l'ACF is that the ACF adopted the "formula" put in place by the AAA Contest Board in 1920.
