Hello. Thank God the season starts this weekend. I am in Sydney. Wishing I was going to Melbourne this weekend.

Speculation: Williams hasn't improved. Red Bull and McLaren still leading. Ferrari will have a terrible time in the first three races. Webber 2012 WDC. You read it here first.

if you're on the ground (and this counts for any round this year) post a picture.

All we have to hope for is not too much interference from Rust, Baird et al and settle back for some decent commentary.

Nobody really knows where they are.

Red Bull seem confident but weary of McLaren. McLaren seems bullish while Ferrari have a note from their mothers.

Everyone is watching Lotus, and Kimi stole the show in today's press conference by saying exactly nothing.

HRT are flying parts for De la Rosa's car in. It's still under construction though given the team has a new car to build and it's here, it's a step forward for them. It's all relative but upgrade packages were mentioned.

I thought it was just me Smile Love the Australian GP, TV coverage is best of the season commentators notwithstanding.

Enjoy the spectacle!!

Are Red Bull playing cat and mouse or are other teams in with a shot of taking the honours this weekend??

Seb surely hasn't shown his hand yet, and Mark, although quicker, was some way behind the Maccas. I expect they weren't really trying in that session.

Not that it means much considering the conditions, but I was pretty happy to see Schumi at the top of the time sheets in P2, the car is looking pretty good balance-wise... shame it doesn't look as pretty as the McLaren though (the only decent looking car in the field this year IMO).

P1 and P2 were almost meaningless due to the weather. A fine day tomorrow and a real hint of how the aero tricks and drivers will really perform.

The Mac looks positively stunning compared to the others!! The rest look like they've been in a big accident.

The Ferrari looked a right mess; understeer...understeer...understeer-HUGE OVERSTEER. Anticipating some cool shots of that throughout the season at the hands of Fernancy.

Can we not get rid of HRT now? It's getting ridiculous (has it ever not been?) They got a place in F1 ahead of Prodrive who have proven motorsport credentials and success. I'm tempted to say the infamous USGP team would have made a better fist of it.

Right, I'll be the one to put my neck on the line:

Mercedes=Brawn GP 2012.

From certain angles the Marussia looks like Justin Wilson's (title-winning?) F3000 entry.

From certain angles the Toro Rosso just looks...blocky?

And how many seasons in a row can HRT be "surprised" by free practice round 1 and actually, y'know, have the car finished before they get to Melbourne? Doesn't need to be by much...

Let's give HRT a few races. It's effectively a new team; completely new management, even many of the mechanics.

There are developments coming. The car was late but there are upgrades in the works for Barcelona. Give them time.
