http://www.pitpass.com/45659-Frank-Williams-steps-down-from-Williams-board
A sad day for sportsmanship in F1, some of us auld pharts can remember the concept. Even sadder that the presence of a Williams on the board of an F1 team is, to quote the sub-Parr one,"would strengthen quality, diversity and effectiveness".
Well Adam knows all about effectiveness.
Sir Frank achieved so much under cirmcumstances that most of us could barely imagine surviving. I do so hope his successors do the team justice. |

It is a sad day.Frank achieved so much under very difficult circumstances.
Whether Parr is the right man is another question altogether.
But a part of me says that this may be a good thing for Williams.
F1 has evolved so much since Williams successes that possibly new fresh blood might help restore their former glories.
I for one hope so. |

In a sense, with Frank and Patrick not there any more, to me there is nothing 'significant' about Williams. There is little to link them to their glory days, including (rather liberally) 2003.
Now they are just some privateer team as far as I am concerned. It's a shame Frank didn't have the luxury Ron Dennis' was afforded; the chance to go out after a championship win.
Of course, it's only so hard to feel sorry for a multi-millionaire, but fair play _________________ "With its F1 coverage from 2012 set to play second fiddle, the BBC promises to get fans close to the true experience - of being Mark Webber" #HIGNFY @don_lyall |

This, unfortunately.
Form ebbs and flows, but it's hard to see Williams being a genuine contender for at least a decade, such is the fall from grace they've experienced and there just doesn't seem to be much in the way of potential game-changers within the team. Surely Frank would not have stepped down had he been able to see a change of fortune in the foreseeable future? |

| I think the era ended a while back, tbh. The team appear to have been running on fumes for years. |

So long Frank - thanks for the memories.
Williams now, and for some time remind me very much of McLaren in the years before Project 4 bought them, and Ron Dennis and co turned them ito the force they have since become. Hopefully there is someone out there who can do the same for Williams and the team don't disappear the way other once greats like (proper)Lotus, Brabham etc did _________________ Movable body panels - welcome to the Wacky Races |

He's still team principal though, and still working full time as such. He's just gradually stepping back which, as he mentions is inevitable. They are still Williams. _________________ Juan Pablo Montoya - a sad loss to F1 of an immensely talented driver. F1's loss is NASCAR's gain. |

Quite so, I didn't read the article properly
But I don't think it will be long until we are saying farewell to frank completely. _________________ Movable body panels - welcome to the Wacky Races |
