Straight to gamestation for a PS3 and F1 2006! |
F1 Championship Edition for PS3 is a pretty good game, I really like the interactive practice/qualifying setups feature - how the team suggests individual setup options and you get to test them on the track, select the changes you like and eventually end up with an optimal setup... works very well. |

Announcement was made today on IGN re: F1 2009 the game- won't be coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or PC, until 2010 - whereas autumn 2009 will see releases on Wii and PSP.
Fully realistic apparently, with Slicks, KERs 2009 rules etc, presumably a lot of races in the wet..
Some nice touches - In the Australia and China races, your monitor gradually darkens as the race progresses, plus there are entertaining side games such as "diffuser protest simulator" "Lewis Hamilton's truth or dare" and "What on earth is Flavio on about". A pair of dice are included to accurately measure out penalties.
At least the push to pass button has found it's spiritual home.. _________________ "It's only testing!" Twitter: @bawjohnson |

Yeah read about this yesterday, only took 3 years to sort out! I hope the handling isn't like the last Codemasters game, where you threw it into a corner and didn't have to break.
Apparantly as well there is a bonus that if you win in your first season at Ferrari, then you can spend the rest of the time drinking vodka, which I thought is a nice touch _________________ Massa? Schumacher? Ferrari yes, Mercedes no. What to do. SUFC. |

But can you create your own team, give it a daft-sounding name, turn up with no sponsors and two good but not great drivers, and totally dominate the early stages of the season? _________________ Movable body panels - welcome to the Wacky Races |

The problem with such a strong driver field is there's no enjoyment from dominating the season in a crappy car.
Maybe they'll have a cheat where you can unlock Gaston Mazzacane. Y'know...like they do in Doom 3. |

Upon investigation and quiet reflection, F1 2009 on the Wii looks completely balls.
Why do they keep pushing the casual aspect? There's a million road car games that do that. |

The same reason we had a light show instead of a GP last weekend - we hardcore fans will never leave and so don't need to be enticed/rewarded for our loyalty.
Or so they think. |

As I understood it, the Wi version was never meant to be the finished article.
Supposedly the Windows version is the be all and end all and the Wi version is just being used to iron out the creases. |

I haven't played a racing game on a PC since GP4 in 2002.
The PS3 version should be the ultimate, really. |

rF has the computer sim market cornered. I wouldn´t expect them to release something that great for the pc because simracers are very used to cutomization and having that ruled out is quite a bummer. _________________ If rugby is just a sport then the heart is just an organ |

I actually still like the 2006 version but it's so stupidly redundant now. I forgot all about Tiago Monteiro! |

Wii isn't able to run better graphics?
Colin McRae 2 is goddamn old and still looks better than that _________________ "One minute you're defending the whole galaxy, and, suddenly, you find yourself sucking down Darjeeling with... Marie Antoinette and her little sister." |

It's also hard to justify £50 given modern warfare 2 rocks all the balls in the universe, apparantly.
I got a wii like a year ago and all I've done is play nostalgia games like Goldeneye _________________ "With its F1 coverage from 2012 set to play second fiddle, the BBC promises to get fans close to the true experience - of being Mark Webber" #HIGNFY @don_lyall |

The Wii doesn't have much more oompth than a PS2 so massively less than a PS3 or the other one. _________________ Si hoc adfixum in obicle legere potes, et liberaliter educatus et nimis propinquus ades. |
