Schumi must certainly knew that his car had an opel engine and therefore it was illegal? how is that for not willingly race and illegal car and therefore cheat? |
I think you are dead wrong about an Opel engine being illegal. The article says the rule that was broken was racing with a different brand engine if you have to go to the spare. The Opel engine would have been fine if the main car also had one. For Shumi to have cheated, he would have to know that rule AND know the spare car had a different brand engine. I see no proof of either and it is the kind of error a driver could make. _________________ Those who forget they're passed are doomed to repeat it. |

First you declare your opinion, then you use that post as proof.
You have not provided any evidence to substantiate the original allegation.
Its bad enough using other people's opinions as fact, but to use your own opinion as fact is really quite absurd. You wouldn't get away with this kind of writing in school, what makes you think you'll get away with it here.
BTW, this is a recurring technique in your posts.
As for the rest of your hysterical post, no need to add to what HoosierDaddy has already said. |

Let me take a wild guess here. You two are convinced that JV crashed into Schumi at Jerez 97, aren't ya?
For you two Schumi is the mother Teresa in racing overalls. |

For the record, I think Schumacher screwed up in '97, which I happened to be quite happy about it, since I was hoping to see JV win.
Now that that is settled, care to go back on topic, and argue your point, or should we just assume you have once again been caught out with your unfounded accusations? |

If something, your responses are living testimony that the Schumi propaganda machine has brain-washed you. |

This is really quite funny, in a sad sort if way...
I think any reader of this thread (or this forum, for that matter), will immediately recognize who has or has not been brainwashed.
The fact still remains that you appear unable or unwilling to back your accusations up with any rational argument.
Must one assume that you are therefore in breach of forum rules? |

Typical comming from a Schumi/Ferrari fan. If you cannot win in the track just pick up the rule book |

Brutus, you really crack me up... Do you realize how pathetic and ironic your response is, especially in light of the post with which you started this thread?
BTW, I'm still waiting for you to get back on topic, but I guess you will simply continue to hide behind personal attacks on anyone who challenges your posts. |

Maybe I'm just daft, but why would this make you hate Schumacher "even more"?
He had an accident early in the race.
Caused the race to be restarted.
Took part in the restart with the spare car (Presumably the only one left at his disposal).
What exactly did he do that any other racing driver would not do?
Based on the information given, there is NO proof that MS knowingly used an illegal car, and more so, there is even less proof that he benefited from it?
All the excerpt really shows, is that Schumaker was disqualified on a technicality due to sour grapes of another competitor.
It hardly paints MS in a bad light? Doesn't it?
It seems to me ther are some people who are just dieing to find excuses to justify their innate dislike of MS.
I can only put this down to sour grapes.
As a counterpoint, Senna purposely rammed drivers off the track, or punched them in the face after a race, yet he is seen as a god by half the F1 establishment.
Compared to what MS has done (in how many F1 races now?) how he continues to be demonized by you lot, is really beyond me. |

Correct me if i am wrong but what i understood that Zanardi,Angelli and Schumi were out of track after first corner then schumi goes back to track and blokes the road and takes steering-wheel off to restart the race while this is indeed smart way get back to figh for win it isnīt very sporting....And NO this isnīt anti-schumi post but rather how i understood this story....BTW i am Finnish so correct me if i misunderstood the text. _________________ Sauber Rulez!!! |

That's a fair interpretation, and if what is quoted is indeed correct, its definitely an opportunistic move by MS. However, lets not forget that according to the text, MS had set pole, and was pushed off the track after the start by Angelelli's spinning car... Seems to me MS was the victim here.
Forcing a race restart by leaving his car on the track, while perhaps pushing the boundaries of sportsmanship, seems to me to be more like bush justice than anything else.
Irrespective of the issue, the fact remains that Zanardi won the race on a technicality, after he had been outpaced by MS in both qualifying and the race. MS disqualification had nothing to do with sportsmanship or any performance gain. It was merely the result of him having different engines (both independently legal) in his race and spare cars, and of being forced to use the spare car for the race restart. The whole incident doesn't seem to me to warrant any real rejoicing on the part of the MS detractors, other than the personal enjoyment of seeing someone one dislikes have a bad race. Hardly a sporting attitude, don't you think? |

I agree with Sandy - this thread has run its course. Ive deleted the last post, which was just name-calling, and this thread is now locked.
