I recently bought 3 books off eBay:
"Bernie's Game" - very deep political insight into the sport/business.
"Flat Out, Flat Broke" - a brilliant book written autobiographically by Perry Mcarthy on the trials and tribulations of his road into F1.
And finally, Christopher Hilton's Autobiography of Ayrton Senna. I've not read it yet, but flicking through it looks thorough and an excellent tribute. I'd recommend that one (and the two above). |

Aren't you forgetting the fabulous, fantastic, underrated, super biography by Mr Tom Rubython: "The Life Of Senna" (Don't take this serious. The biography is a sh*tload of cr*p!!!!) _________________ Disclaimer:

Then ofcourse there is the video "A Star named Ayrton Senna"
which covers his karting days as well as his F1 career and plenty of the MAN himself!! Still makes the eyes well!! _________________ There is nothing like a dream to create the future.

thank you.
am reading christopher hilton's 'inside the mind of the grand prix driver' at the moment and am finding it fascinating, but also quite repetitive and heavy-going. not hugely convinced by his skill as a writer. |

Although not a Senna biography, I think some of the best insights into the man rather than the racer are found in Sid Watkins "Life at the Limit". Well worth reading by anyone interested in F1.
Another one that I still keep picking up as a quick source of information is Alan Henry's "Ayrton Senna - One Year On". |

| Niki Lauda's _The Art and Science of Grand Prix Driving_ and his _My Years with Ferrari_ were both very good. Lauda's irreverence for sacred cows comes through very well, as does his determination and guts. |

"Ayrton Senna - As time goes by"
Written by Christopher Hilton 1999 Haynes Publishing
This is a pretty good biography of Ayrton..the author has written books about Michael , Gerhard Berger, Mika Hakkinen , Jacques Villeneuve, Heintz Harold Frentzen, Johnny Herbert , Nigel Mansel Jean Alesi and James Hunt |

I'd highly recommend "The Chariot Makers" by Steve Matchett. In fact, every Steve Matchett book is a joy to read. "The mechanic's tale" and "Life in the fast lane" are great, "unputdownable" (sic) books. Sid Watkins' books are ok, nothing to write home about. If you are interested to know how safety evolved as a concept in F1, and Bernie's role in it (forget Max - Bernie was the man), then Watkins' books fit the bill.
