| There are many pretenders in the lower ranks of motor sport. This is possibly the least amount of British drivers in F1 for many a season. Enlighten me race fans who will be the next Brit to join the F1 ranks and which team would he go to? |

Almost certainly, I'd say. He's got McLaren backing too, so I guess that answers the question of which team he'd go to... |

Yep, Rons been paying his pocket money since he was 10 or 11 ish. He seems pretty unaffected by all this early attention though and I hope he does well. |

| If i was him i wouldn't rely on the backing of McLaren...didn't Heidfeld have this and look what happened to him... |

I suspect it will end up depending on how loudly those lovely folded notes talk.
Gallaher (better known as Benson and Hedges) at one time were rumoured to be keen on a British driver. Why Eddie Jordan would be keen on this is another matter, surely he would want a driver of Irish roots unless the money was overwhelming.
Anyway Gallaher are focussing on expanding in markets such as Asia, where other tobacco companies have found increasing profits (particularly since the raising in tobacco duty in the UK) in recent years. As such, the need for a British driver has arguably dwindled at Jordan, once considered the most likely team for another Brit, though this may change and is just my own take. |
