Hi,

I am currently planning my trip to the A1GP race at Brands Hatch.

Can anyone tell me what the easiest way is to get there from London City Airport?

And can anyone suggest a nice and cheap place to stay on Saturday night?

Thanx in advance.

Greetinx
Johan.

Hi Johan

Assuming you're using public transport, the easiest way from London is to get the train from Victoria station to Swanley - it only takes about half an hour and there are plenty of trains. Then it's a taxi ride to Brands Hatch, or there may be special buses running. That's probably the route I'll be taking myself.

As for places to stay, the words "cheap" and "London" don't really go together! If you're going the Victoria route, there are lots of places around the Victoria area - take a look at the Visit London website, for example: www.visitlondon.com. Alternatively, you might consider staying near Brands Hatch, i.e. in Swanley. There should be some bed & breakfast places there. According to the VisitBritain site, there's a Tourist Information Centre in Swanley, email: touristinfo@swanley.org.uk. A few places are also listed on the Circuit Information page of the Brands Hatch site, www.motosportvision.com/brands-hatch/. (There's even a Thistle Hotel right by the main gate of Brands Hatch, though that won't be cheap.)

Thanx Carol,

I will look into your suggestions. I will probably fly to London Gatwick and rent a small car to drive to Brands Hatch.

Then the only thing I need is a place to sleep on Saturdaynight. But I am confident that I will find something.

Johan.

Oh, the joy of getting it all in place!!!

The flight is scheduled, the lodging is arranged (Nice and close to the circuit in Sevenoaks) I have rented a car.

The only thing left: The tickets. My VISA didn't work via the site but the nice lady from the Brands Hatch circuit is going to help me get the tickets so: I AM SET TO ATTEND THE A1GP RACE AT BRANDS HATCH.

I am a very happy person.

Carol, thanx for your tips.

Johan.
