| White lightning's right - Imola is trhe first eupean race of the year. But it wouldn't have been DC - it would have been Kimi if I recall rightly |

Obviously the question was too easy - but Francis's answer is the most accurate. To be precise: I was at Imola on the Friday of the 2003 San Marino GP and witnessed Fisi being awarded his winner's trophy for Brazil - it was handed over by Kimi (not DC). But I wasn't at Brazil that year.
A mildly interesting little side fact (since this quiz is about trivia) is that, despite MS dominating F1 in recent years, I've only seen him win 6 times in those 17 GPs.
Francis - over to you for the next question. |

Which famous team owner cancelled a Honda engine deal by telephone having used them to secure a better engine deal |

Right Sean - the next one will be MUCH harder.
Right Colin Chapman signbed a deal wikth Honda in 1963 - but only to put pressure on Climax to produce a new engine. |

Doin't want to hog thnis - I said to Sean I'd give everyone else an hour.
I don't think I'm making a fool of myself - but I'm doing this without any recourse to books/gogle.
3 - all in the 312T series.
Two for Lauda and one for Jody
As I recall 75 and 77 for Lauda and 79 for Jody |

You are missing quite a bit. Anyone else? Or, go ahead and read the question and amend what you wrote. |

The Weslake Eagle was to my mind one of the top half dozen best looking race cars of all time. A beautiful shape and a great livery, and with Dan Gurney, a great driver.
The Ford Weslake V12 was intended to be the Ford succssor to the Cosworth V8 - to compete with the high revving Ferrari and Matra V12s. Despite many advanced design features and excellent rigidity and lightness, the Weslake never reached the revs of the competition and died an ignominious death.
However a couple of F1 teams did look at it post Dan Gurney's All American Racers - The Eagles.
The first was Frank Williams in one of his earlier team incarnations.
But in 1972 another team modified a chassis and ran the Weslake V12 in tests before ditching it for lack of power.
What was that team? |
