Carefully avoiding the March 782, how about the 1966 Nascar series?

Fred Lorenzen led for a total of 782 laps. Although best known for driving the #28 Holman and Moody Ford, for one race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway he drove the infamous #26 Junior Johnson "Yellow Banana".

784 - At the other end of the scale, in 1912 the British Cyclecar Club defined the cyclecar as a machine with 3 or 4 wheels, an engine of less than 1100 cc and a total weight of less than 784 lbs.

In 1919 the club's name was changed to the Junior Car Club, and again in 1949 to the British Automobile Racing Club.

787 A nice easy one this.

In 1991 a Mazda 787B was driven to victory by Johnny Herbert, Volker Weidler and Bertrand Gachot in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. They drove it like they didn't expect it to last 24 hours, burning rubber at the exit of almost every pitstop and became the first (and so far only) Japanese car to win there.

788 - Onlins produced shock absorbers for Ducati bikes. THe DU788 was one such shock (used on the 848 and 1098 bikes

I know its not motor racing linked in the strictest sense of the game, so if any one has a better examlpe for 788 please feel free to replace this effort Very Happy

I'm sure that somewhere at some time a Ducati raced with a DU788 shock absorber

Quite correct D-Type. I was meaning that (to me at least) motor racing and motor-cycle racing are not neccessarily the same thing Very Happy

TON 792 was and is a Healey 100-Six which was was entered as a reserve car in the 1961 Le Mans 24 Hours and has since raced in several Le Mans Classics. It had been used in the 1958 Alpine Rally (Nancy Mitchell/G. Wilton-Clarke) and 1958 Liege-Rome-Liege (Nancy Mitchell/Anne Hall) rallies. I am sure it has much more events in its career, but these are the ones at my fingertips.

Unlike a lot of its kind, it was not upgraded to Healey 3000 spec.

(Thanks to Anfield. I really didn't want to double post again, especially as TON792 would have made it a triple post and I love this car - probably as much as D-type and his Jaguars. I wish I could remember which model he likes. Laughing)
