Yes John

It was a great show and Rob and I had a good time. Forgot to try and work out which car you had prepare3d. Any clues? Though there was so much to see I'm not sure I could remember everything

It was the Papaya Orange McLaren M1C on the Orwell Supersports Cup stand. Smile

Well John - THAT is one car I certainly remember. In fact I remarked to Rob how much I loved that car Smile

It's a long time since I'e seen a Supersports race - maybe 10 years. Last one I saw at Silverstone Charlie Agg was driving a Mclaren M something? And I think David Piper was driving his 917 and Latour in Nick Mason's Ferrrari 512s. I may be getting copnfused if that was all the same race, but I do remember Charlie Agg and was quite amamzed at how quick those cars were. Does that sound right?

Must try to catch up with another race in that series. I love that era.

Rob and I saw David Piper wandering round the show yesterday. Also David Leslie. Just wandering round incognito. A great show

Thanks, the McLaren is a very pretty car.

Sounds like you are remembering correctly, i was in the stands as a spectator watching that race myself too. Charlie was driving an M8F at the time i think.

I also look after the car in my signiture, which is the only March 717 built, thats more of a monster than the McLaren with it's 9 litre Big Block engine, and being one of the more modern CanAm cars it has an aluminium tub rather than a spaceframe.

If you want to catch the Orwell races this year, we visit Brands Hatch on 2/3/4 June and also Silverstone on 28/29/30 July as well as races around mainland Europe. If you are coming drop me a PM and i'll give you a close look at the cars.

Thanks John

I'll put Silverstone in my diary. It's sort of my "home" track.

Excellent, we usually have a pit garage so should be easy to find, if in doubt look for the widest blue sportscar you have ever seen. Very Happy
