If channel ten covered all that thered be no time for anything else. They should give better coverage for what they have before they cover every series they can get their hands on. Also how many people would be able to watch IRL, Champ cars or Nascar at 3:30am?
Ive written to them complaininbg about that sort of timetable (was about the brazilian GP in 04, and I basically got told they wouldnt do anything and too bad if I miss a race.
I really hope they lose the football next time it comes up though, then they really can concentrate on motorracing not idiotic thugs chasing a funny shaped ball around a field. |

Most people tape the races because stupid Channel Ten shown them at 11:30pm or even as late at 1:40am when stupid Big Brother is on so what is the problem. Also I never said anything about Nascar becasue there are too many races. |

| People can tape the races on Sunday and watch it on Monday instead of taping it on Monday and watching it on Tuesday. |

OK, so I read the petition, but there is no way any commercial station is going to give that much time to motor racing.
You only have to look at the Sunday newspapers to realise that in the scheme of things, motor racing isn't the be all and end all of sport.
Yep, I would love to see qualifying, even if it was shown after the event, and even at 3AM in the morning. And yep it's frustrationg having a junk show like Big Brother making the Grand Prix telecast late, but we all have to accept that the station has to earn adverstising revenue to pay for the rights to broadcast.
So from my perspective the answer is simple, the higher the ratings, the more prime time motor racing we get. We all need to promote our favorite sport so more people watch. Then we will get more and better timed telecasts.
Slightly off topic, but a comparison of the quality of Channel 10's coverage, against some of the other championships that they show, is a good judge of their commitment to trying to do the right thing. |

Holy cow! you want all of that from a station that already has alot of motorsport?
Firstly, congratulations on your passion for the sport and I wish you luck, but what channel ten give you and what 9 used to give you, is already miles ahead.
Unfortunately, motorsport will never be as popular in Australia (or many places in the world), as more "mainstream" sports such as AFL, rugby, rugby league or *gasp* soccer.
Motorsport just doesn;t have the same pulling power as sports featuring a ball (unfortunately).
Living in the US, I have to say thank goodness for Speed.
While they are not perfect and have way too much oval stuff for my liking, they do satisfy the motorsport cravings....especially during the European off seasons
Good luck with the petition though |

Fair go for Ten!
Remember how bad things were on Nine?
Ten does a good job balancing the needs of its audience - I would much rather have another year of Ten's excellent F1 coverage than have it go to Foxtel. _________________ Watching F1 since 1998... trackside at Silverstone, Shanghai and Melbourne. |

Good point and one I had forgotten.... right now, its FREE TO AIR.
I know this is a whole new debate, but is it right to complain about something not being good enough, if is free?
just my 2 cents worth |

it shows he is willing to be flexible?
Personally, I don't think it is worth the amount of time and effort that mabs is putting in, however I do wish him luck in getting the programming he wants.
Nothing was ever achieved by just having people sit back and accept what they don't like, so I guess this is a start. |

My point is that F1 coverage is good on Ten - regardless of whether it is on pay or free to air - but I would object to paying to watch something already funded by billions of dollars in sponsorship from around the world - only thing I would like to see is the pre race coverage as shown on ITV (when I have been in the UK I LOVE watching the F1 program for the extra interviews and the famous grid walk). _________________ Watching F1 since 1998... trackside at Silverstone, Shanghai and Melbourne. |
