I agree with you! But Yoong was worse but Zolt the Bolt is not far behind! |

Yeah, Zolt wouldn't have qualified in a couple of races if the 107% rule existed. _________________ Who the fcuk messes up with my signature? |

True but that doesnt make him a candidate for the worst ever driver, he was a bloody good driver who just never had the budget to get the breaks in F1, he was very very quick testing for Benetton and Williams but bad luck and fate conspired against him at every turn in his career
I have seen McCarthy race several times and he was daring, aggressive and superb in the wet, one of the best F3 drivers I was ever priveleged to watch but he never had the money to make it to the top
Andrea Moda are by far one of the worst F1 teams in history with more often than not Mc Carthy's car breaking down before it even left the pit lane and even one time mechanics actually simulated an engine noise and pushed the car down the pitlane to pretend they had given Perry a chance
Perry came very very close to being Williams test driver in 94 and with Senna dying and DC being promoted to the cockpit that might well have been Perry driving a Williams
Unfair to class Perry as one of the worst ever, he was just the unluckiest ever |

The worst? In my book that would be Ayrton Senna. Closely followed by Damon Hill.

Crap in F1 perhaps but he still stood on an F1 podium in his short half year programme at McLaren. I seem to remember it was in Italy, very apt but next race he was gone. Still a good race car driver though and now an excellent team owner/manager in IRL ....he shouldn't be on this list I'm afraid !! Dean. |

Tora Takagi or Shinja Nakano(circa 1997 or so), both entirely mediocre and there on no amount of talent. Both from ludicrously rich families ....one has a entire city named after father/grandfather or whatever the direct relation was .... 'bought talent' as they should be deemed !! To me, it's not a sport if you can buy your way to the top .. Dean. N.B Gianni Lavaggi has just sprung to mind also, I believe he was a Count to boot |

Right. Andretti had a podium finish in one of the worst McLarens ever. And what was with him and Wendlinger (sp?)? He and Andretti ran into each other in the first lap in 3 (at least) different races! Andretti picked a bad time to get into F1 and made it virtually imposible by deciding to contiune living in the US! Unbelievable. _________________ Those who forget they're passed are doomed to repeat it. |

I beg to differ ... the chassis was good, they ran a customer Ford HBV8 which sorely lacked power. The timing was, indeed, unfortunate for Andretti and the fact that Senna was known to be on his way to Williams must have been good cause to worry them more .. re: building a new team around who ? By no means could it be said to be amongst McLarens worst, I think '95 without a shadow of doubt took the buiscuit there but that's another topic Dean. |

Shinji Nakano was mediocre but strangely I managed to be present at two races where he did pretty well. In Hungary 1997 he finished sixth for Prost - just behind the two Schumachers. Then at Spa in 1998 he finished eighth (OK, he was last), having survived not only that massive first-lap pile-up but also Fisichella smashing into him from behind later in the race so that he had to do a long pitstop for repairs.
As for other no-hopers - anyone remember Esteban Tuero? Argentinian, 19 when he started, did one season with Minardi then vanished back to the pampas vowing never to return to F1. |
