Oooh, tricky.
I want to say Rosberg as I'm really pleased he has finally won his first race, especially given he did it by converting pole position.
But since we never got to see Button pressuring Rosberg's two-stop strategy we'll never know for sure how hard he really had to work for it. All we kind of know is that he seemed to have the legs over Schumacher early in the race and then he just drove it as the Mclarens got bogged down in traffic. I suspect though he's driven many better races for less reward. Still, well-deserved victory.
Anyway on my usual self-imposed "driver of the day" rules I tend not to go for pole-to-victory winners, and am generally looking at those that overtook/entertained/maded unexpected things happen/made big gains.
So on that note (perhaps people will disagree vociferously) I voted Vettel. Considering he was 11th on the grid and 15th (?) after the start to get it home 5th was a pretty good effort. Especially since he was not all that far away from actually being several places higher, if he could have squeezed a tad more life out of the tyres. I can't say I'm amazed by his attitude out of the car - adjusting to life with a "normal" car i.e. not dominant but neither is it a dog - has made him a grumpy little bunny (the slow-down lap radio transmission case in point) but, still, decent on-track recovery.
Honourable mention to Bruno Senna 14th to 7th position, good effort as well. _________________ Life is.....the gap between Formula 1 Grands Prix |

| Rosberg. Has to be for a pretty much lights-to-flag victory like that. He never looked bothered and only knew about any of the second-place shenanigans thanks to his radio, which says it all really. |

Had to be Nico. Faultless drive, irrespective of Buttons pit problem. In the end Button losing a couple of seconds in the pits was irrelevent, he would never have caught Nico.
Congrats to Nico on the first win, and for becoming only the second son of a WDC GP winner to win a GP.
Good drives also from Vettel to claw back from a bad quali and aweful start. Further cudos to both Williams drivers and well done to Grosjean for not only surviving lap 1 but scoring some decent points.
Also bad luck Schumi, should have been on the podium. Respect though for his attitude and comments afterwards. _________________ Movable body panels - welcome to the Wacky Races |

Wasn't that Jacques Villeneuve?
Or do you mean World Champion? |

Actually, Damon and his dad were both GP winners and champions, while Jacques was also GP winner and champ, but Gilles was only GP winner, not a champion.
So Nico isn't first in any case, and is only a second if we are looking at champions dads, but he didn't win a championship yet, and I suppose Jacques championship is a bit more important than Nico's win. |

No i actually meant third not second. (to be honest I forgot about Jack Villenueve - maybe because I personally can't abide the beggar). But you are correct about the second sun of a world champion _________________ Movable body panels - welcome to the Wacky Races |

I could say something facetious like yes but Nico deserved to win a GP, but that wouldn't be very nice would it _________________ Movable body panels - welcome to the Wacky Races |

JB. Would have won with a normal pitstop.
Kudos to MW for proving that Red Bulls gives you wings! |

eh? , I don't think so. The pit stop cost him 6 seconds (9 seconds for the total stop minus the 3 it would normally of taken). Rosberg won by 20 seconds and although Button had a bit of traffic to contend with I doubt that he could have made up the time anyway.
Rosberg for his incredible pole position and faultless drive. Well deserved and a not before time win. |

I don't think anyone can say on that one. Button had been reeling him in at over a second a lap. True it was far from a done deal him pulling it off but equally I'd say it wasn't impossible. Kudos to Button for taking it so well........... _________________ it'll all end in tears..........cool! |

Rosberg for proving me wrong.
I was saying to my friend (also watching) that Rosberg might bottle it alá Singapore 2009 - but he showed me. _________________ "With its F1 coverage from 2012 set to play second fiddle, the BBC promises to get fans close to the true experience - of being Mark Webber" #HIGNFY @don_lyall |
