The British tabloid media does seem incapable of coming up with any narrative other than "set them up, then knock them down".
It's been done for so long and everybody recognises it, but they still keep doing it.
As for the story in the Express, that rag is awful (worse than the Murdoch papers that come in for so much criticism) so it doesn't surprise me, I'm just grateful they didn't plumb the depths by working in a Princess Diana reference. |

I've got news for you - media in general (tabloid, radio, television, internet, etc) worldwide are all guilty.
It's becoming harder and harder to receive "just the news" without journalist interjecting their opinion and/or slant when reporting an item.
I wish we were all given just the news facts and leave the opinions and judgements to the us to decide for ourselves. _________________ Ex IMSA Racer |

No offence or trolling meant, just curious |
On the face of it I have set a double standard haven't I? The comment from eduisfine seems abusive/nasty/childish to me whereas Gary's comment was more saying LH needs to mature a little.
Right or wrong, I think the way the two comments are written convey two different messages. _________________ A Kiwi living in the USA |

There is a period in every adult's life, usually when parental support and guidance ceases, when reality bites you on the back-side, the world no longer revolves around you and you are responsible for your decisions - it's called growing up and that is where Lewis is at the moment.
For too long Lewis has lived in an emotionally protected environment surrounded by family massaging his ego and career guidance from a professional racing team. Now the family has moved on (voluntarily or otherwise), the girlfriend has gone and he is being outperformed by his more mature team-mate. It's not the end of the world, it's not anywhere close to being the end of the world but, for some, it can appear that way.
The rub for Lewis is that his recent life experiences have been lived in the media and so will his growing up - it's up to him to get his head around that, on his own without the 'aid' of sycophants.
I wish him well on this particular journey. |

Apparently he's making an r'n'b album.
I'm trying to resist the temptation to say that this would never have happened under Ron Dennis.
If it's true, he needs his head screwing on, lest he 'do a Villeneuve' and end up an empty shell, devoid of the mercurial talent that got him there. |

x 10 to the power of 15.
He's getting further and further removed from someone I think I could hold a conversation with. He's becoming closer to a guy at university I met (and laughed at) that cared to a *hilarious* degree how cool he was. I bet his album would be called something balls and GQ-ified like; 'The Definition; SexYcool twenty12'
Edit; As time goes by I'm coming to a realisation. This is...funny. This is really, top to bottom, left to right...utterly, effing, spectacularly hilarious. _________________ "With its F1 coverage from 2012 set to play second fiddle, the BBC promises to get fans close to the true experience - of being Mark Webber" #HIGNFY @don_lyall |

Final line sums it up. Not liking where this is going for him. |

Sometimes the Americans have the best way of putting things into words - the only possible reaction to that photo is...
Oh. My. God.
I really hope for his sake that this is supposed to be self-mocking. |

Come on folks, lighten up a little!
Lewis is a young man and it's the off season. Why shouldn't he enjoy himself a little and show that there's a bit more to him than just a race car driver.
Heck, there's enough boring ones around, why can't we celebrate someone who has brought so much to the sport.
To have Lewis AND Jenson is absolutely brilliant. |

And here's a man trying to look serious, while making jazz hands, standing on one leg in turquoise trousers. What was that about "Time for the media to lay off Hamilton"??? Oh, how the irony rings...
