I have never been as struck by a season in which the end comes and I think "Fair enough".
2009 finished a square month earlier! It's not late 2011 season more practice for 2012. _________________ "With its F1 coverage from 2012 set to play second fiddle, the BBC promises to get fans close to the true experience - of being Mark Webber" #HIGNFY @don_lyall |

I agree and that's 100% because of there having been effectively no championship battle this year. _________________ Si hoc adfixum in obicle legere potes, et liberaliter educatus et nimis propinquus ades. |

Just to go back to the points system argument.
Even if we revert to the old system, the 2011 table would look little different.
Vettel 161
Button 111
Alonso 107
Webber 106
Hamilton 93
Massa 44
Rosberg 31
Schumacher 27
Indeed the pattern continues right down to Perez and Buemi, which is as about as strong an argument for leave it alone as you are going to get. |

I have to say that I could have lived without the last two races.
I always thought the more the better ... give us 20+ races and a
maximum 3 month winter break. But now I feel that 18 maybe even
16 races are enough and that's from a Vettel fan. _________________ another kraut in kanada |

As I posted earlier, I'm for quality over quantity.
Are you listening, Bernie ??? I doubt it . . . _________________ Ex IMSA Racer |

IndyCar doesn't see the need for more than 14 races at this point, so what are all these F1 gits on about ...
... or, not!
The more the merrier I say. Off season is way too long. Of course I'd say that were it only a month! |

Hi there "sort of" neighbor !!!!
I'm not sure Indy Car can afford many more races. They've had a tough go of it for a number of years now . . .
Ever since the CART - Indy Car split, it seems that open wheel racing (at least here in the US, with the exception of Indianapolis) has lost it's luster to many racing fans, unfortunately. _________________ Ex IMSA Racer |

I wonder whether a successful spell in the US for F1 could help open-wheel racing there.
It is strange how the Indy 500 is a massive crowd-puller but there is limited interest beyond that. I suppose it's one of those national sporting event things where people go so that they can say they have been, or because everyone is talking about it, rather than from an actual love of the sport. A bit like Wimbledon here, where many people are happy to get tickets but don't care about the tennis beyond it. |
