I am sure it has much more events in its career, but these are the ones at my fingertips.
Unlike a lot of its kind, it was not upgraded to Healey 3000 spec.
(I love this car - probably as much as D-type and his Jaguars. I wish I could remember which model he likes. ) |
Normally the first is best and after that it generally gains weight or something
MGA Mk1 before they countersunk the grill
Austin Healey 100-4 or 100S
Austin Healey Sprite the bugeye
Triumph TR2
Jaguar XK120 roadster
Jaguar D-Type - short nose without the fin
Jaguar E-Type - Mk1 coupe
Datsun 240Z not the emasculated 260Z
Lotus Elan is an exception: that's the S3
Jaguar XJS is another exception. The flattened flying butresses are horrible so it has to be the drophead _________________ The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know. |

794 - The customer 1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa weighed 794 kg, the same as the first Cortina GT. The original Austin 7 and BMW Isetta weighed 794 lb. _________________ It's F1, Jim, but not as we know it. |

Thanks Rob, I thought this thread had died!
"Rule 3.17.1 Bodywork may deflect no more than 10mm vertically when a 500N load is applied vertically to it 800mm forward of the front wheel centre line and 795mm from the car centre line. The load will be applied in a downward direction using a 50mm diameter ram and an adapter 300mm long and 150mm wide. Teams must supply the latter when such a test is deemed necessary."
All they need now is a way of doing the test while the car is moving - or look at the pictures. _________________ Yes, I Know that I'm a BOF. Someone please tell me why I still watch. |

797 - The Caterham Graduates Championship was started in 1998 by competitors from the 1997 Caterham Scholarship. For the first year it was called the Graduate 797 series (the first "7" for Caterham Seven, and "97" from the year that most drivers started competing) _________________ It's F1, Jim, but not as we know it. |

On Friday, 12 March, 2010 Betfair would give you odds on Lucas di Grassi winning the F1 World Championship for 2010 of 799 to 1. Even then this should have seemed a bad bet. 7 990 000 to 1 would not have tempted me! _________________ Yes, I Know that I'm a BOF. Someone please tell me why I still watch. |

801 - For the 1957 season Ferrari renamed the Lancia D50 to the Ferrari 801 (8 cylinders, Formula 1?). The pannier tanks had disappeared and after many modifications Ferrari considered it their car. _________________ It's F1, Jim, but not as we know it. |

The Gulf Racing-built Mirage-Cosworth GR8, driven by Vern Schuppan/Jean-Pierre Jaussaud into third place in the 1975 Le Mans 24-Hours was chassis number 802 according to the Bonhams auction information at the 2006 Goodwood Revival meeting _________________ Yes, I Know that I'm a BOF.
