Funny how MS caps outsell all other drivers put together and is the best-selling item of F1 mechandise! Wink Cool

Thats as Ferrari merchandise is all over the place, and has no real value. Just go down to your corner shop and get one.

Not all teams are like that Wink

That depends on why people buy them.

They may buy them to use for target practice or other such reasons. Wink Smile

Yeah, well it goes to show the lack of taste these fans have because those caps are some of the butt-ugliest around! Wink

It's like these fans are suffering from the Stockholm Syndrom - they identify with their capteures (all the bandwagon fans around them).
Laughing Laughing

I respect all sorts of fans. The bandwagon and ad-influenced fans I don't. They are the ones that claim they are the true fans - wearing all red including red socks and shoes... oh, and smoking ONLY Marlboros!! Laughing

Some of the worst of this bunch are the JV fans in Montreal!! Remember, I'm not a fan - just an observer!

That one year when Williams advertised for Winston, every JV fan was smoking Winstons!! You can't normally buy those in Mtl. Then, when he went to BAR, they were all smoking Lucky Stikes!!! It was funny and sad at the same time to see these idiot fans! Where were they this year?......oh, that's riiiiiiight JV wasn't racing!

By the sounds of it, i'd have to say that from what I've seen, most "fans" are marketing-driven-idiots! Shocked

Proves that marketing works though, and we know high-up people read the forum so maybe the top brass at Marlboro/Mild Seven/B&H etc... are thinking "hang on, JV sells cigarettes!"

Bandwagon fans irritate me, being a Liverpool supporter living in Manchester I know a thing or two about bandwagon fans. Funny how there are more Arsenal shirts around here recently Wink .

lol. They quitted smoking right after JV wasn't racing. That's such a good thing.

redders irritate me more than any other fans. not implying ferrari fans here,.... well, you know this is a lie.

@tigger's post: if he wasn't universally "hated", he'd be hated by the universe.
Take it easy, that was a joke, so is this one.

I saw something similar at Silverstone. It was about 15mins after quali had finished and Kimi had taken pole. I was walking to the car park and I had to walk past all of the merchandise stalls - and guess what I saw?

There was a group of 4 Ferrari "fans" - all placing their MS caps into a new Mercedes bag and placing a silver Mercedes hat with "Kimi" blazened across the side of it on their heads!! Rolling Eyes
Do you think they wanted a refund the next day? Laughing

The message these people were trying to deliver, as far as my imaginatoin could go, was to illustrate the meaning of being philanthropic on this brutal F1 planet, which is not easy in a age like this---when fans hate one another for no specific reason except for which team they feel sweety for. so, they are all courageous people. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Silverchamp, I can relate to that. One story which springs to mind (not personal, but from a friend) was from the season-opening V8 Supercar touring car round down under in Adelaide (run around most of the old Adelaide F1 track with a shortcut cutting out the hairpin at the end of the old Brabham Straight).

A group of two guys and their girlfriends arrive decked out in the red colours of the Holden Racing Team, the championship-winning team from the previous year. Flags, shirts, you get the idea.

The Stone Brothers Racing Ford Falcon of Marcos Ambrose came out of the blocks firing and was dominating the event. Midway through the race, they got out of their seats, and returned a while later decked out in Stone Brothers-Pirtek blue...

For anyone who knows anything about the Ford/Holden rivalry, that story borders on the sacreligious. I prefer to think of it as a fine example of bandwagon-jumpers at work.

On the topic of bandwagon fans, I've seen it numerous times where JV and JPM fans packed up and left the race once their man was out. I'd have to say these two fan bases are the most prevalent ones to pull this off! It's very sad - yet funny! Crying or Very sad Laughing

Not really, people prefer caps for the people they hate the most. Even Brutus wears a MS cap because they don't make one for his ex-wife Rolling Eyes Laughing
