Actually there was something in his motor to make him slower but he never didnīt stop the race though you are righ about failure. _________________ Sauber Rulez!!! |

Any particular reason ?
Ascari won F1 world titles in his career and the only unlucky thing I can think of is that he died but the same could be said for dozens of drivers |

He had the Williams contract in his pocket for 1992 , the year that Mansell walked away with the title.
It was obvious to everyone from the 2nd half of 1991 that Williams were on the way back up.
Instead he chose to tear up his contract and drive for Ferrari which at the time was on a slippery slope down.

It was 1990 Alesi had signed a contract for the '91 for Williams. Its all very easy to say that Jean was stupid and made a mistake but in 1990, Ferrari were battling for the title whilst the ugly Williams-Renault FW13C was slower than McLaren, Ferrari and Benetton. Its only when Jean want to sign for Ferrari when Frank went begging to Mansell to 'unretire'.
At the time, no-one realised the impact Adrian Newey would make to Williams and that Williams were on the verge of perfecting active suspension |

No problem. Even respected journalists accuse Alesi of being stupid and foolish for not joining Williams, forgetting what the state of play was in 1990 |

Chris Amon who is characterised as the best driver never to win a Championship, he achieved other laurels at Le mans but when it came to F1 - naught, save 1970 non-Championship win at Silverstone. Qualify that! a driver who gave his all, but whose career was fraught with cancelled deals, misjudgement, bad luck and basically the "gunho"" attitude the prevailed in the the sixties and seventies. Still a Kiwi Icon |

For me, the unlucky drive is who do not have a chance to drive the best car of a season.
So, we still don't know whether can he be a world champion when he is in the best team.
For DC, I don't think he is unlucky. He got a driver in William and Mclaren when these 2 teams was the best team in the season.
By driving the best car of the grid, a good racer should only beaten by their teammate. They shouldn't beaten by other driver who has a worse car.
But when DC in Mclaren 1998 & 1999, he can't beat both of the Ferrari driver. The god had given him the main factor to be a world champion but he failed to do it. So what is he waiting for to be a WC? Nothing? Nothing can help him to be the World Champion again.
Ruben is also the same, by driving the best car. He can only do it Ferrari 1 & 2 in 2002, but he fail to did it in the others season. |
