I have just been watching a dvd of the 1997 incident with Schumacher and Jv. and all ican say is that schumacher is a cheating b&£&^$%. he clearly tried to knock JV off the track so he would be world champ but instead it was him who went off. He got what he deserved having got his second place deleted from the record books

A ban for life is what he deserved for such a blatant attempt to kill JV. Twisted Evil

[in best Michael Winner voice] Calm down dear!

I agree it was a bad move but it was borne out of desperation as JV had the line. Michael was fighting for the title and his will to win is such that he is just unable to accept second place.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no Schuey apologist but I do know from my own attempts at karting that when you are competing flat out you sometimes have to show a degree of ruthlessness. When I'm wheel to wheel with a competitor, I will not yield so I do understand how he could have got a bit carried away.

I do think Michael aimed to take JV out and it didn't work. But I just think it shows how much he cared about winning.

This will be a controversial view, I'm sure! Very Happy

You are both right... he is an untalented cheat, who has lucked into 79 wins.

Furthermore he has never explained, to my satisfaction, where he was on the afternoon of 22 November 1963.

I'm afraid its even worse than you hint at. You remember how the timing "corrected" itself at the Indy restart to Schumi's bennefit? I have been doing some investigating and it turns out that all of his lap times in every race were altered in real time by several seconds to the good. Yes, folks, MS has never actually won a single race. It just seems that way because the cumulative lap times make it appear he has. He is actually one or more laps down when he takes the checkered flags. Rolling Eyes Wink
