Di Resta confirms management split

05/07/2012

Paul di Resta has confirmed that he has parted company with his manager, Lewis Hamilton's father Anthony.

Following a report earlier in the week the Scot was asked about the issue during this afternoon's official press conference at Silverstone.

With Lewis Hamilton sitting alongside, the Scot looked visible uncomfortable, refusing to give away more than the very minimum.

"I think it has been reported we are no longer working together so that is the matter at the moment," he said. Asked to give further insight into the decision the Force India avoided the issue instead insisting the he aimed to concentrate purely on the racing this weekend.

Hamilton, became di Resta's manager shortly after the much publicised split with his own son, the Englishman playing a significant role in bringing the Scottish driver from DTM into F1.

The Scot, who has regularly out-performed his teammate Nico Hulkenberg this season is said to be lining up a move to Mercedes should Michael Schumacher opt to retire, while some suggest that should Lewis Hamilton leave McLaren the Scot could find a berth with the Woking team.
