Berger to Redbull?

NEWS STORY
15/11/2004

Just hours after Dietrich Mateschitz signed on the dotted line to take delivery of his shiny (almost new) Jaguar (F1 team), there is growing speculation as to drivers and even team management for 2005 and beyond.

At the second of today's press conferences, current team boss Tony Purnell refused to be drawn on the issue of drivers, commenting that the team will test a "number of drivers in the coming months".

However there is also speculation that Mateschitz might recruit the services of fellow-Austrian, Gerhard Berger, a former GP winner and BMW Motorsport boss.

"Gerhard is an expert and his advice would certainly be useful to us," admitted Mateschitz.

On the subject of drivers, Mateschitz refused to rule out a second-term for Austrian driver, Christian Klien: "A second year in the sport after his rookie season in 2004 would make sense," he said.
