Growing up in Adelaide around the time the 'City of Churches' played host to the Australian Grand Prix had a profound influence on Mat. It captivated him as a child, watching the likes of Prost, Lauda, Rosberg and Piquet on television before meeting them in the flesh having camped outside their hotel for hours. Starting his writing career in grass roots motor sport in Sydney - a scene he is still heavily involved in - Mat's passion for the sport and Formula One soon landed him on the steps of Pitpass.
A frequent contributor Mat now travels the globe at every opportunity covering Formula One, often finding the stories others don't. Barely a week goes by when Mat can't be found at a race track, or garage. From Eastern Creek near his home in Sydney to the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi there is nowhere he would rather be than in the paddock of a race track. Email: mat.coch@pitpass.com
