Glen 'Crompo' Crompton is an Australian based writer who claims his first comedic act was sending his mother into labour on the Labour Day public holiday.
He is coy about his age but admits to being senior to anyone on the F1 grid. Crompo is a long-time friend of editor Chris Balfe and part of the original "band of madmen" who united to found Pitpass. It is widely assumed that these are the only reasons his work continues to appear on the site. Somehow he manages to maintain healthy links within Formula 1, the extent of which he is notoriously secretive about. His articles are often controversial; rarely pander to populism and, according to him, occasionally humorous. His work is also known for being verbose with Editor Balfe once claiming "Crompo could not address an envelope in under 500 words". |
