Mechanic OK after pit incident

07/02/2013

The was a nasty moment in the pitlane early this morning when Force India's James Rossiter collided with one of his mechanics.

Around forty minutes into the session, pitting after his second run, but still to post a time, Rossiter entered his slot where his crew was waiting.

Unfortunately, carrying just a little too much speed, combined with cold brakes and cold tyres, the Englishman missed his slot and hit his jack-man throwing him into the air.

Having received treatment from his team the mechanic was found to be OK and will not require a trip to the hospital - though the nose on Rossiter's car was damaged and had to be changed.

The Englishman, who hands over to Paul di Resta this afternoon, has completed several runs since but has yet to post a time.
