Monaco Grand Prix winner Mark Webber has hit out at suggestions his car was illegal.

Last week the FIA sent a clarification to teams, a story broken by Pitpass, effectively outlawing the floor Red Bull had used since the Bahrain Grand Prix. In affect it means the car Webber drive to victory in Monaco, which was perfectly within the regulations at the time, would no longer comply with the rules.

While the clarification has no impact on results achieved during the season thus far some have suggested that, if the Red Bull floor is illegal now, it must therefore have been illegal in Monaco. It's a notion Webber went to great pains to dismiss.

"I'm happy to be called lots of things and I'm happy to have criticism about my driving and lots of stuff, but I will not take criticism in that respect," said the straight talking Australian. "It completely pisses me off to be honest, because the car has passed every single, every single technical regulation after the race.

"All of the teams that were against it did not make any protest after Monaco, the car passed the test after Bahrain, the car passed the test after Monaco and now there has been a clarification on the rule, and the rule now is different and we had a car that was legal for the first part of the season and now the rule has been changed and we will start again."
