In a statement issued tonight on the Ferrari website, FOTA chairman Luca di Montezemolo thanked race fans for their support during the row with the FIA and promised them the chance to express their views as F1 moves forward.

The statement read as follows:

"I wish to thank all our fans, because the general public had had enough of all these changes. We hope that next year, having finally achieved stability in terms of the rules, we will see a winning Ferrari once again."

Tomorrow, FOTA will meet the media to outline its proposals in detail and then on Friday, Luca di Montezemolo will answer questions from the fans on the Ferrari.com website.
