Ferrari and Toro Rosso in action at Mugello

NEWS STORY
24/07/2007

While seven teams were in action at Jerez today, Ferrari and Toro Rosso got their preparations for Hungary underway at Mugello.

The Faenza based outfit, with Tonio Liuzzi at the wheel, topped the timesheets, though the team was quick to explain that the reason for this was because Ferrari was evaluating a new electronics package based on 2008 regulation requirements, and not due to the Red Bull owned outfit making a dramatic improvement.

A few hours were lost because of a mechanical problem in the morning, but after that the focus was on set-up work aimed at improving the balance of the car, and evaluation of new brake materials. Aero work was also on the agenda, some of it for the forthcoming Hungarian Grand Prix.

While Ferrari worked on its new electronic components aimed at the 2008 season, Badoer completed 50 laps, finishing 0.430s off Liuzzi's pace.

Today's Times - All Times Unofficial

Name Team T Laps Time Gap
Liuzzi Toro Rosso B 80 1:24.203 139.339 mph
